Want a Jelly Belly?!

We are officially now in the Vacaville area! Our first stop: of course the Jelly Belly Factory. It was great. They offer all of the free samples you want, we got a tour, and a free little goody bag. Matt was also able to taste the new Bean-Boozled flavors. They are very similar to the Harry Potter nasty ones!

Graduation!

Oh yeah...we graduated! It was a lot of fun because both of our families came up and we were able to walk together with the business school in the Marriott Center! After 5 years a-piece, it felt great to finally be done and start a new chapter of our lives!

Costa Rica!!! Monkeying Around

When we visited the national park, we saw all kinds of wildlife. The monkeys would come right up to people. We were like 10 feet from these dudes.

Our next stop was Manuel Antonio on the Pacific Coast. Gorgeous, but then again just about everything down here is. Once again a professional picture credited to Matt. This is the public beach in Manuel Antonio area. Look at the Ruggedness of that man's body. Must be Matt Lanenga. He rented a surf board and was the next surfer champ! We just didn't bring our camera that day. Quepos beach.
Hidden in the middle of the picture is what is known as a rodent of unusual size. Just like princess bride, only this was no fire swamp. We never could tell exactly what it was but it looked like a 20 lbs. rat. It doesn't look big in the picture but it is the size of a small dog. Matt spotted it with his keen eyes.
In the middle of the picture is a black spot. That is our first encounted of a sloth. It didn't do much...but then again it is called a sloth.
Matt with Manuel Antonio beach behind him. Go Cubs! We support them anywhere we go. We actually had a guy from Chicago come up and ask us about the cubs and give us the update on their status. We love Chicago.

Costa Rica!!! La Fortuna Falls and the Crocs

La Fortuna Waterfalls also in Arenal. It was a nice hike down and then we were able to swim in the pools. We didn't have our swimsuits on so we only went knee deep. Doesn't this look professional?! Matt's amazing.
Matt was a little warm so he stood right under the Fall...It's soaking his head.

On our way from Arenal to Manuel Antonio and the Beach our driver stopped at a bridge and had us look at the Crocs...Cna you believe it?! There were at least 20 or 30 crocodiles in this muddy water, it's nice we didn't fall in, we would have been goners! We had some crocs at our hotel in Los Lagos and they were held in only by a chain-link fence that was bent and looked like they could get out just by touching the fence. It was pretty scaring. Matt was sad he couldn't taunt them.

This is our hotel/resort in Arenal called Los Lagos. It was absolutely gorgeous...as if we had been uprooted and planted in the jungle. The view of Arenal Volcano from our hotel! Look at how close it is! We were told that if it were to erupt we would be right in the path...Luckily this was not Dante's Peak.
The pool are at our hotel. We're not sure if the pictures do justice to this place. There were 2 regular pools, each with their own slide and waterfalls, and then 1 heated pool with
it's own slide and a swim up wet bar. The hot springs! There were about 5 or so different hot springs that they converted into spas here. So pretty pretty.
One last view of our hotel's pools. It was lots of fun. Here the sun goes down every night around 5:30 so it's completely dark by 6. We went swimming one night around 7pm and it began just pouring but we were in the heated pool so we kept swimming. How romantica :)

Costa Rica!!! Pura vida amigo

Hey all!! We just got back from a vacation to a little place we like to call Costa Rica. Man...that place is very bueno. We spent almost a week in the country visiting volcanoes, hiking to waterfalls, ziplining through the forest, taunting crocodiles, visiting the beach, taking pics of monkeys, and most of all...eating rice and beans!!! We are hoping to post many more pics, so stay tuned.


We flew from San Jose to Arenal in a commuter plane. The view was amazingly spectacular. This is a shot on the poorer part of the city.
We survived (and actually enjoyed) our flight on a small plane.
Bueno-here is the arenal volcano. It's been active since like the 1960's and has been spewing lava ever since. Our hotel was just at the base of the massive mountain. Allie says bueno

We took a canopy tour through the rain forest by going on 9 consecutive ziplines. Basically, they strap you to a long cable, some were as long as 750 meters, and send you through the rain forest at breaking speeds of 60 mph. It's best to keep your mouth closed b/c there are a lot of insects in the forest. The whole time your 300 feet above the ground. As some would say, we loved it like a fat kid loves cake. It was one of our favs!

A bonfire is never really a bonfire until matt manwaring jumps over it. Is this really how you get rid of kidney stones??? You gotta love the amount of focus on matt's face!!

Danger, danger, danger! When Joe and Matt and firewood is involved...stand back. Let these professionals handle the wood fetchin. Make sure you have the sound on when you listen to this one. You just might be able to hear b-rad's aged wisdom.

Last days in Provo
