July Happenings...

I'm still not back in my blogging groove since vacation, so here goes:

-Matt & I had our 4th Anniversary!

-Kaden turned 9 months!

-Matt's Birthday!

-YW President

ANNIVERSARY

On July 8 Matt and I celebrated 4 years of marriage! We luckily got a baby sitter and went out for one of the most expensive meals...but super yummy! It was fancy--we had 4 people wait on us! One who showed us our table and then go over the appetizer menu, one who stood 10 feet away to fill up our drinks the moment it was 3/4 or less and fold our napkin after we used it, our head waiter, and then a separate dessert waiter! We got a free dessert with "Happy Anniversary--bonus, and had fondue chocolate for dessert with fruit and homemade marshmellows and graham crackers. Thanks Matty, love you lots!

4 years down, eternity to go!

9 MONTHS!

Kaden is now 9 months! The Stats:

-18 lbs 11.5 oz=25%

-29 inches long=75%

-17.75 inch head=50%

Tall, skinny, and blonde...who would've thought?!...The facts:

-Kaden now sleeps through the night! We finally decided at 8 1/2 months he should cry it out--it was hard, but now he sleeps from 9:30pm-6am!!!

-Mainly eats only table food, plus nursing. My doctor wanted him to switch to 100% table food (no baby food) at 9 months. Kaden loves it!

-He loves to talk; I think he just wants everyone to know where he is, especially during Sacrament meeting

-Finally gets to eat out of a high chair and loves it!

-still not much of a napper, he prefers to be awake and playing

-Kaden loves to mimic faces and noises that we make--so funny!

-He loves to play 'chase' and will crawl after us all around the house

-Fascinated by all little kids

MATT BIRTHDAY

Matty had a birthday! He's getting up there in years! We celebrated 'the week of Matt' with him opening something multiple days in a row. I got him a stand, case, and music for his steel pan drum. He looks so professional and is just about ready for some gigs! I made a scavenger hunt all over the house with funny pictures of Matt--he had to work for his presents. We love you!

Matt and I have been in the YM/YW programs for the past 1.5 years and it's been great especially to do the combined activities together. Kaden comes with us and the YW really enjoy taking care of him. Last week I was called as the Young Women President--S.C.A.R.Y. I really enjoyed my YW experience growing up and I hope that I'll be able to provide the spiritual/fun/loving atmosphere that these girls need.

So much has happened these past 2 weeks:

Kaden is now 8 months! He is just fun to watch. He now has 2 teeth, and there is no way I can get a picture--for some reason he doesn't like when I pull back his lip to see his 2 bottom teeth. He cruises along our furniture, talks up a storm, loves to play the piano by reaching up on his toes, and has stolen our hearts! We love you Kaden!

Father's Day! Matt is such a great dad. Kaden gets SO excited when he walks through the door--he flails his arms and legs and just wants to see his dad. Matt works so hard to provide for us in every way. We celebrated Father's Day early before we left, and then again on actual Father's Day. We love you! Thanks for all you do!

Matt's family gathered at his cousins in Southern California. It was fun for everyone to meet Kaden, especially his cousins, Graysen and Carter. He loved to watch them, and they had fun with him, too. We had a 'pick your father's nose' game, courtesy of Matt's mom, as well as a dad hair braiding contest--Matt will have to practice. We went to the beach, had family pics, played games, and had so much fun! Thanks everyone--Mom and Dad, Schoessows for housing!

The backside...

My family gathered at Yosemite this year. It was the first time our entire family has been together for 3 or so years. It was fabulous! Matt had never been to Yosemite and loved it. We hiked, biked, fished, kayaked, white water rafting, ate well, and just about everything! Can't wait to do it again!

White Water Rafting was just about the coolest thing I've ever done. There were 13 of us in 2 boats, and we even had to rescue people who had crashed! Adrenaline!!!
