Just the TWO of us.

This is my TWO year old boy and his best friend, Teddy. They do everything together, from driving cars, to wrestling Dad, to read books, hide, & sleep.

This past week they celebrated Kaden's 2nd Birthday together. Kaden woke up to a room filled with almost 70 balloons! Talk about party! He and Teddy had so much fun.

Then ate ridiculous amounts of bacon on, of course, Thomas birthday plates.

Played play-doh for an hour, his new favorite pastime.

I feel almost like his 2nd birthday is harder for me than his 1st. His first was a milestone, but to be two is to be officially into the toddler stage, and soon preschool and kindergarten, etc. Ahhhhh! It's all going too fast...

Hurricane Survival 101.

This past week, NJ was hit with an earthquake and hurricane! It's been crazy, but luckily we are ok. We had 72 hour kits ready, but didn't have to evacuate. Many of our friends/neighbors lost power but thankfully we didn't (only for 30 sec). There was a lot of flooding but again, we didn't have any problems. It's times like this I'm glad I'm renting. But Kaden learned first-hand how to survive:

First, go to the park before the storm to get all of your outdoor energy out.

(This park is on the backside of our block and was

completely covered with water 12 hours later.)

Play Horsey with Dad.
Build a High-Wire
(Make sure to have pads around to allow jumping off on every side!)

Then practice your balance--or lack of--by laying on the high wire.

Build a cook fort then destroy it by jumping on it.

When the storm has passed run, jump, splash, stomp in EVERY puddle...

Heart Attacked.

My heart is under attack. On a daily basis, my heart explodes & melts multiple times. A smile, a hug, a kiss, a laugh...with a little man like this, wouldn't yours?

I am constantly amazed at my almost two year old. He learns and picks things up so quickly! He always makes us laugh, too:-He knows all of his colors & shapes (green & rectangle are his favorites).

-He sings the ABC song, and can recognize and name half of them.
-Can count up to 14.
-Listened to Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" and he came up to me and said, "Another one Bites the dust!"
-At dinner last night he said, "Mama, I don't like!" -- say what?!
-He is using his pronouns! "I hold this." " This is mine."
-LOVES trains. Anything to do with them.
-Likes to play horsey with daddy & Doggie with mom.
-FULL of energy. See video following pictures.
-Fire trucks & buses were the coolest inventions to him.
-As of late, loves his stuffed animals. Tries to take his clifford & teddy EVERYWHERE.
-Ring Around the Rosie never gets old.
-Copies everything we say. Gotta watch the mouths...
-How can he be so big?!
