August.

Well, I guess I'll be updating every few months. :) For some reason once a month is not doable--must have something to do with my 2 crazy, rambunctious boys. AUGUST Was an exciting month for us. Kaden started Pre-K!!! Can't believe this boy is so old. Because we purchased our home about 25 minutes south we enrolled Kaden in a school nearby our home, BUT we weren't closing for almost another month so that meant a short commute twice a week. Kaden was pretty nervous to start school and actually begged not to go. For our 'meet & greet' with the teacher & class Kaden instantly found friends and has loved it ever since! He is so smart--writing, reading, and is finally getting into art. Kaden also started soccer and has loved every minute. I thought Benson would be lonely and pining for his brother, but I swear school days are his favorite--one on one time with mom! Can't believe how big Benson is--his vocabulary is so big! Matt has been kept busy at work, traveling occasionally to visit manufacture sites. He got to travel to Ohio and stay the night with LaLa & Papa. We also got to enjoy a kayaking trip with some friends down the river and some trips to the zoo. I spent most of the month packing and cleaning as our move out date was Sept 8.

July.

July has been a month of ups and downs. Living close to Matt's parents we have been able to enjoy their company often. They made the trek over to celebrate America's Birthday with us. Nashville does it right with some fun family festivals--inflatable bounce houses, petting zoos, good food, good fireworks. The highlight was watching all of the fireflies around us and the fireworks at the same time. What amazing creatures. The boys were pretty impressed with fireworks.
Another exciting event for the Lanenga household: WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!! We've been looking for awhile and found one that fits us. We are excited to move soon and have our own place for the first time ever. Volunteers are welcome :)
Kaden had a lot of fun in his Tball league. The game he got to bring home the gameball, he was so excited he just had to sleep with it. It was a fun season and we look forward to more. WE also celebrated another anniversary (8!!!) and Matt's Birtday--we love you!
My maternal Grandmother suffered a stroke and passed away peacefully with her children by her side. I am so grateful for this kind, loving woman who never ceased to worry--mainly about those she loved. She raised a WONDERFUL woman who became my mom. I truly am blessed. I'm grateful to know that I will see her again, and that presently she is surrounded by so many she loves who passed on before her, namely my Grandpa. All of my siblings and cousins were able to gather and enjoy our time together as we mourned and celebrated her. I love you Grandma Bea! Until we meet again...

Nashville Happenings.

I silently promised myself that once we moved to Nashville and Matt was out of school, I would go back to blogging... 7 months later this is the first. I've decided to do a monthly update on our family, and hopefully it's a goal within my grasp :) Nashville is a beautiful area, though we are technically in a suburb about 20 minutes South. The week we moved was 1 degrees on New years day--not a good start for our family just moving from a Texas winter. Thankfully we had Papa & LaLa Lanenga to help us and watch the kiddos while we moved in to our apartment. Matt has enjoyed his job mostly, though the first few months were LONG days filled with LONG nights and he's had to travel once a month, give or take. The boys have adjusted fairly well though they miss their friends in Texas, especially Kaden's best buddy Damien though we've recently started doing pen pal and they love that. We've enjoyed visits from Mimi and Papa & LaLa--it's been so nice to finally live near family again! Monster truck show, zoo visits, bike rides, swim lessons, preschool, pool days, and more.
JUNE June was quite the busy month for our family. We flew to Los Angeles and enjoyed some much needed beach time and Schoessow/Lanenga time. We also got to enjoy 2 days of Disneyland! Kaden was in heaven. Though he was a little more frightened of some of the rides than we thought he should be. It was fun to go with family and for Kaden to have lots of cousins to play with. His favorite ride was Autopia where he got to drive the car. Thank goodness we stayed at one of the Disneyland hotels. It made for a nice break for the boys and naptime for Benson. THanks for the fun!!!
On to Utah where my family gathered for Katie's wedding. So fun to see everyone and be able to attend such a sacred and joyous event. Visited our old stomping grounds at BYU, Vivian Park (many fond memories of that place), and Costa Vida (another story for another day). And Kaden and Benson were again blessed with LOTS of cousin time! Congrats, Katie & Jake!
Next up: July.
